I just whipped this smoothie up for my husband who is doing a 5 hr training ride in preparation for Coast to Coast. Recovery nutrition is very important especially for long sessions and even more especially is the session was hard.This smoothie provides approx 90 g carb and 17g protein which easily meets post-recovery requirements within 30 minutes of the training session.

Put all ingredients into blender and hit the GO button:

  • 2 ripe bananas (50g carb)
  • 1+ T. peanut butter (nil carb, 8g pro)
  • 6 Brazilnuts (nil carb, 8g pro)
  • 1 T. honey (15g carb)
  • 1c chilled rice milk (26g carb, 1.5g pro)

For an even more decadent tasting smoothie, try using frozen bananas. This smoothie is 100% vegan and gluten free. Enjoy and happy training!
