ATHLETICS NEWS:  Rebecca Wardell

Congratulations to Heptathlete Rebecca Wardell for her stunning personal best performance in Ratingen, Germany in June 2008. Her score of 6108 surpassed the international standard of 6000 points, and was a key breakthrough for Rebecca, who has used my cookies for some time now:

Message: Hi there Ems. My name is Gavin. I competed in the hum dinger of a race called the Routeburn Classic, as you did. Firstly well done on doing the Routeburn Race in the weekend, by no means an easy feat. Hope the body is still in good nic? Long story short, I had a bit of time to think about the race on Sat arvo, as I did the double traverse back to the divide. I was the guy in the R&R sport vest going the "wrong way". As I finished I made a v-line for the bbq and the sausage with sauce and onions! I new I still had a bit to go to make it back to the divide. So fatty goodness was a treat at that point. Upon my heading back past the finishing area I noticed a few boxes of your cookies, sitting on and around the table, so I grabbed 3-4 (cookies, not boxes) as I thought they would be a treat across the tops heading back. When packing my race bag in the morning I made a conscious decision to leave my one Em's Power Cookie in the car for my return and to savour its goodness when I got back. Things all went to plan as I made my way back, approaching the 7-8-9 hour mark of the journey I opted to put the cookies to the test, and have only them and water. Fair to say the Leppin, Peak Fuel, and One Square Meal bar all only ended up coming for the ride. The only downside I see in the product was wanting to slow down to a nana walk so I didn't drop any crumbs and savour the taste! But other than that operator error the cookies hit the spot and definitely helped to get me over and down the hills in one bit. Just for the record, around 9hrs 45mins total time to double traverse the track, a cheeky 74odd km. I had heard and read good things, and now I can testify. Well done on a great product.
