For those who are weight conscious or have Diabetes it is important to
follow a healthy meal plan and to exercise daily. Em's Power Cookies®
are an appropriate snack because they are satisfying, energizing and they
can prevent binge eating as a result!
They are a guilt-free snack, (especially with a low G.I. of 50) that can
be used appropriately in any diet plan. If you have Diabetes, you need to
have your carbohydrate targets assessed by a qualified Nutritionist or Dietitian,
so you know how many grams of carb you are allowed each meal, each day.
The key for blood sugar and weight control is carb-consistency: my cookies
are high in carb (about 50-60g total carb/cookie) and it is OK to eat that,
as long as you account for it in your
carb-targets for that meal or snack. A good idea is to have half a cookie for AM tea, then the other half for PM tea.
However, people who have had intolerances to these items have stated that they have absolutely no problems with my cookies. This information is strictly anecdotal, that can only be truly tested by your own tolerance (or intolerance) to the product.
