The story of Em's 
Em's Power Cookies & Bars are the epitome of energy nutrition. They were initially created in New Zealand by Nutritionist "Em" for her adventure sport exploits including winning the iconic Speight's Coast to Coast World Multisport Championship, not once but three times. Here is Em's story:
"I was living and training in Australia in 2003 after over a year of travelling, and was planning to return to Canada after the year's finish. Before doing so, I had heard about this crazy race called the "Coast to Coast" in New Zealand. It sounded like an awesome event so i decided to race it before heading north. In the month prior to the race while I was training, I was also baking my cookies to use in my training, and give to friends like I always had. Over the years, friends would say, "you should sell these 'power cookies' because we love them so much!". No other product compared. 
The 2004 Speight's Coast to Coast was very tough because of the extremely bad weather, but I still survived in the race and was 3rd in the Women's World Championship. After the race, I had a conversation with race organizer Robin Judkins. I thought about living in New Zealand, and told Robin that I had always wanted to run my own business like my Dad did. But since my Dad had passed away, I could not go to him for advice anymore. So I received the mentoring help I needed to start marketing and selling Em's Power Cookies.
At first, I was renting kitchen space from a local business, baking as many Cookies as possible and delivering them on my bike (no car)! The business quickly grew into using better systems and after 8 years, we have NZ's biggest sporting goods distributor selling my products, and we export to Australia for the bike and outdoor market. I also managed to win 3x World Multisport Championship titles in the meantime - all fuelled by my own Cookies! I still love getting out there adventuring, so you might see me racing around on my bike or dressed up like "Powergirl" promoting my Cookies just the way I started. As Coast to Coast organizer Robin Judkins says, "They're bloody brilliant!" I hope you feel the same."

Emily was born in Canada and went to university in the USA where she ran collegiate track and cross-country and earned her Master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition. After practicing as a Clinical Registered Dietitian in Oregon for 4 years, she left her job to travel in 2002. She stumbled into adventure racing while travelling and now resides on the West Coast of NZ with her husband Mitch. Emily is available for public speaking engagements, and nutrition education sessions. She has also been a nutrition expert consultant for TV interviews in the USA, and has also taught cooking classes.
